We are Cobaltix

Cobaltix is a trusted technology consulting partner with over 20 years of experience, providing tailored, high-touch technology solutions to help businesses streamline operations, protect their assets, and drive growth across diverse industries.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide great service to great clients, and we've been doing so since 2003. We have consistently grown over the past 20+ years, while maintaining one owner, no debt or investors, and thus no diversion from taking care of our people and our clients. We have over 200 clients, and we hire the best people to work with our clients. We are highly experienced in process definition, implementation, and management, and we have expertise in just about every area of technology.

Our people are smart, diverse and multilingual. Collectively, we speak 23 languages fluently and last year we traveled to 27 different countries. We believe in mental and physical fitness, and this is embodied by our team. We scuba dive, go deep sea fishing, hike, camp, swim, run and play water polo, volleyball, rugby, ice hockey, and music (some more competitively than others).

We’re the discreet technology company used by some of the most forward thinking firms who hire only the very best.

We specialize in financial companies, and understand regulatory requirements, including SEC, FINRA, and HIPAA.

Our business is based on word-of-mouth, and we have grown through the many referrals supporting small to medium size businesses across multiple industries.

In 2003, he founded Cobaltix to provide missing technology, security, and data analytics solutions. Over 20 years, it has grown to 80+ experts serving global clients. He also lectures on security and business at top universities.

Beyond work, Steve leads Cobaltix Innovation Labs and supports young people, immigrants, and refugees. He is also an open water swimmer and ultra cyclist.

Jay Goldberg

Chief Operating Officer

Jay is an integral part of the management team at Cobaltix and has been with the company since 2006. He is responsible for client relationships and plays a key role in training, growth, and the strategic direction of the company.

Jay has incredible business and technical acumen and quite often acts as a Virtual CIO for our clients. His insights help our clients grow, and he understands how to make technology an asset instead of a liability.

Jay also brings a law degree and 13 years of law enforcement experience to Cobaltix. Outside of the office he plays ukulele, is a certified master diver, loves photography, and has a pilot’s license.

Reuben Gibson

Head of Partnerships

Reuben began his career in technology in 2007 at SRI (Stanford Research Institute) before expanding the Bay Area market for a mobile payments company later acquired by Grubhub. At Radius Intelligence, he was one of the first sales hires, helping scale revenue from $300K to $2M annually, contributing to a $600M valuation before its acquisition.

As Head of Partnerships at Cobaltix, Reuben works with the Bay Area’s most forward-thinking companies, helping them leverage technology as a strategic asset. He is also an angel investor in CompScience and Reach Security, reflecting his support for AI-driven safety and security solutions.

Reuben lives in Berkeley, where he founded Gibson Art Projects in 2017, a historic salon for the arts. An avid ice hockey player and sailor, he has a deep love for music and the arts. He is committed to giving back, volunteering his time and resources to children in need, but above all, he cherishes time with his wife and kids.

Raza Micic

General Manager

With a law degree in hand, Raza packed up and left Bosnia just as war was breaking out. After living in Switzerland for a time, she made her way to the US. Here, as a well-educated, multilingual professional, Raza needed to start from scratch.

In a short time, she moved up to the role of managing both people and accounts. In 2003 Raza became the first part-time employee at the company that would become Cobaltix, managing the books, the office, and really everyone who would eventually be hired. In 2017 Raza took over as the General Manager at Cobaltix, overseeing all employees and HR. Everyone knows Raza to be caring, fair, conscientious, and someone who is always looking out for you. She is the best manager Cobaltix has ever had.

Raza lives in Berkeley with her husband and college-aged son. She loves hiking in the Berkeley Hills, skiing, cooking, and in her words,“fermenting everything.”

Laura Gadola

Director of Client Relations

Laura oversees customer success, strategic account development, and recruiting at Cobaltix. She cultivates and grows the great relationships that Cobaltix has with clients. She continuously ensures that Cobaltix is aligned with the strategic goals of our clients, enabling Cobaltix to provide them with the best service possible. Laura also plays a key role in the growth of the Cobaltix team, leading recruiting for both engineers and the Innovation Labs internship and fellowship programs.

Although her technology degree from Copenhagen School of Design and Technology and her work experience showcase her incredible technical skills, her real talent lays in business and with people. Laura has an amazing ability to translate complex technical information to exactly the right level for any executive or professional. She can do this in any of her three fluent languages; English, Italian and Danish and brings a valuable world view to Cobaltix.  Cobaltix is incredibly lucky to have her.

When Laura is not at home in the Bay Area, she’s skiing in the Alps (where she learned to ski before she could walk), or speeding down the slopes in Tahoe.

Kylie Walker

Director of Strategic Growth

Kylie graduated from Berkeley, with a degree in Cognitive Science, and coursework in both Computer Science and a minor Data Science. After leading Cobaltix Compliance, Kylie took over managing the business development and account management teams at Cobaltix. Kylie is an integral part of the leadership team contributing to our strategic direction and operational excellence. She plays a key role in driving the growth and scalability of our team, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional service as we expand.

Kylie is an avid athlete and sports enthusiast who calls San Francisco home. She enjoys water polo, pickleball, and downhill skiing, along with cold swims in the Bay and sunset sails with friends. A dedicated Warriors fan, she is also an early investor in the SF Valkyries, supporting the growth of women’s sports.

If you want to connect with Kylie, the best way is over a coffee or a walk along the Marina. She’s always up for a great conversation, especially when paired with fresh air and a scenic view.

Customer Support

We provide world class customer service with a guaranteed one-hour response time. We monitor our clients 24/7 and ensure documentation is kept up-to-date. We pay attention to details and we want to know about issues before you do.

Great Consultants

Our high standards result in a very selective recruiting process. Our people are nice, smart and highly trained. They will strive not to just be technical resources but also trusted advisors.

100% Satisfaction

We warrant everything we do. if you are not happy with any work we do or if you didn’t get value from the time we spent, we don’t want you to pay for it and you don’t have to.  We want to earn your business on every visit.

Pay it forward

Cobaltix is dedicated to giving back. Over the past five years, we have donated more than $1 million in cash, services, products, consulting time, and hardware to local non-profits and people who are doing good in our communities and around the world. In addition, our team dedicates countless volunteer hours to worthy initiatives including Cristo Rey De La Salle, Asian Pacific American Community Center SF (APACC SF), the Monument Crisis Center, Ubunye, Zamni Lakay, California Food Banks, and more.

We have always focused on helping children, immigrants, and refugees--those most in need in our society. We define our society as the whole world (not just our community or country). Our goal is to give back, and to make sure our giving back is effective.

CRDLS
